Delete your Hopli account

You can delete your Hopli account whenever you want. It is deleted instantly, and your data goes with it, as explained below.

From the app (fastest)

  1. Open Hopli and go to You.
  2. Tap Delete account.
  3. If you created group trips, choose for each one whether to hand it over to someone else in the group or delete it for everyone.
  4. Confirm. Done: the account is deleted right then.

Without the app

If you no longer have the app installed, write to us at privacidad@hopli.app from the email you use to sign in to Hopli, with the subject "Delete my account". If you sign in with Apple and hid your email, tell us and we'll help you identify your account. We'll confirm it's you and delete the account within 15 business days. We'll let you know when it's done.

If you have Hopli Pro

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription, because Apple or Google charges for it. Cancel it first in the subscription settings of your Apple or Google account so it doesn't renew.

What gets deleted

  • Your account, your name and your email.
  • Your preferences, including sensitive ones, and what Rumbo learned about you.
  • Your conversations with Rumbo and the permissions you accepted.
  • Your trips where you are the only member, your personal expenses, your budget and the notifications set up on your phones.
  • In group trips: the expenses you paid, your payments and your details for getting paid.
  • If you stopped sharing your location, nothing is kept: it is never saved in the database.

What stays, and for how long

  • Group trips you handed over to someone else keep belonging to that person.
  • Your share of expenses that others paid goes to whoever paid, so the group's accounts add up. Stops you added to other people's trips are left without your name.
  • A record that you deleted the account, with no data about you (just an identifier and the date), for 90 days, to finish the deletion in all systems.
  • Backups replace themselves: within 30 days at most, nothing of yours is left in them.
